Australia is squaring up to play a major role in defining the future
regulatory regime for the internet. 

On Friday, Dr Paul Twomey, chief executive of Australia's National Office
of the Information Economy, speaking at Internet 98 in Geneva, will demand
that any organisations set up to regulate the internet be truly
representative of the broad range of internet stakeholders
worldwide ­ and not hostage to particular geographies.
