For what it's worth, from the Australian Postal Corporation Act
(http://www.austlii.edu.au/au/legis/cth/consol_act/apca1989337/index.html),
Australia Post is a Corporation in it's own right
(http://www.austlii.edu.au/au/legis/cth/consol_act/apca1989337/s13.html)
which returns a profit to the Government
(http://www.austlii.edu.au/au/legis/cth/consol_act/apca1989337/s54.html)

Until a couple of years ago my email address was
Joshua.Rowe§ausgov.apost.telememo.au

Australia Post uses auspost.com.au but not auspost.gov.au. As it is a
commercial agency rather than a a Government Department as such, this is
perhaps to be expected.
