ABNs? www.69612362766.abn.au ] ] I wasn't thinking the abn specifically, yes you are right ] the actual abn would be a bit silly. What I was getting at ] was another TLD for the 1:1 map of company names, abn seemed ] a choice given its new role in Australian business. Are you familiar with plc.uk and ltd.uk? I understand the UK decided to set them up with this notion of a 1:1 map of company names. The funny thing is, most people seem to prefer using co.uk, because it is what everybody else uses. Perhaps there is a lesson there for people wanting to introduce new gTLDs... For stats on *.uk, see http://www.nominet.org.uk/news/stats/stats.2000.html plc.uk+ltd.uk combined look like about 0.3% of co.uk. __________________________________________________________________________ David Keegel <djk§cyber.com.au> URL: http://www.cyber.com.au/users/djk/ Cybersource P/L: Unix Systems Administration and TCP/IP network managementReceived on Tue Oct 24 2000 - 22:34:34 UTC
