While everyone is on the topic of generic domain names
I am reading a book called:

Immutable Laws of Internet Branding by Al Ries and Laura
Ries. (find it at: http://www.ries.com/ where else?)

Now I dont agree with a lot of his arguments but it sure
makes you think. He makes the case that generic words are
bad *brand* names and this fixation with generic names for
domain names is a wasted opportunity when you could be
building a real brand name of your own.

"Cars.com is not a good name for an automobile dealership.
And cars.com is not a good name for a website that sells
  cars." [from the book]
