Philippine Gov't Intervenes In .ph Internet Dispute

The debate involving the Philippines' ".ph" country code top-level
domain (ccTLD) is now under the jurisdiction of the Department of Trade
and Industry (DTI), by virtue of both the E-Commerce Law and the
Consumer Act.

This was announced yesterday by DTI Assistant Secretary Toby Monsod in
the
face of the recent "controversial exchange" of allegations between
parties
allied with DotPH Inc., the existing provider of the .ph ccTLD, and
groups
criticizing it.
