DOT-INFO OPENS FOR BUSINESS
Another new gTLD is open for business -- dot-info's sunrise
period begins today with the registrar accepting
applications for new domains from trademark holders.
Although the pre-registration period lasts until August
27th, those who pre-register within the next seven days will
be given priority to their domain.

LAWMAKERS DEFEND DOT-KIDS BILL
Two US congressmen who want ICANN to create a safe space for
children on the Internet have introduced a bill that would
require the organization to create a .kids Internet domain.
The bill would require ICANN to develop the .kids domain
within 30 days after the bill is signed into law, and before
ICANN creates any other new domains.
