It is perhaps worth noting the case of internic.com four years ago.  This
name was registered by a company operating with a PO Box in Sunbury outside
Melbourne.  The domain internic.net was of course the site run by Network
Solutions for .com, .net, .org & .edu registrations.  Why they did not also
register the .com version themselves is something that has always astounded
me.

Anyway...the folks running internic.com were processing registrations (through
internic.net of course) from unsuspecting customers who thought they were
the real deal.  They were (naturally) charging at least double the registration
fees that NSI charged.

In due course that were sued by the ACCC and ended up paying significant
compensation.
