Master,

I didn't know you were into poetry.
Such talent from the dark side.

I totally agree with your disagreement.
Had you agreed I would have disagreed completely.
At the and of it all however, its all about greed.

Do you agreed with that Larry?

I disagree. While if you get technical, they could both be considered a Sub
domain. But with au.com's their domains could be given away from free. There
are no registration proceedures and can be done in under 2 hours (depending
on Zone file creation and server updates). Tho I am sure au.com has some b.s
registration page to satify the customer and make them feel that wasting
their money (and that much money for a sub domain) is justified.
Fact is, any ISP could do a submission(zone file creation) for a sub domain
of .au.com and not even have au.com approve it or charge for it. That's why
Subs are so dodgey. and Most ISP wont do subs if they dont host the parent
domain (or have expressed written consent from admin of said parent domain)
So why the big fuss over .com.au domains ??? because .au.com domains are WAY
over priced for what they are and are misleading to the public (as au.com
are not associated with Australia)

Only Larry himself could explain it this well:

Is .au.com a subdomain of .com?

au.com and com.au domains are both technically speaking
subdomains of dot com and dot au, respectively. However,
they are both domain endings which are fully transferable
and can be hosted anywhere in the world. The registrar of
au.com domains is au.com and can be located at www.au.com.

Which begs the question, why is everyone fighting over
.com.au domains?

I just love it when Larry gets technical, speaking that is.

Harry
