RE: [DNS] auDA Media Release

None of my clients have told me that they've received an email from the
party in question. On the contrary - one even rang me to say that he'd just
received a "reminder to pay" letter from them because he'd ignored the first
notice, on my advice.

Unfortunately, my client destroyed the "reminder", but he was certain that
it was sent in the last 10 days or so.

So ..... despite their agreement to make amends, there seems to be a certain
lethargy in doing so.

Ron Stark.

Actually, they haven't got around to emailing everyone - they certainly
haven't emailed me (being one of the recipients of their mailouts) - and I'm
certainly not dropping my complaint against them with the ACCC!

Ron

Have to agree. Also given that it appears that the party in question has
actually emailed those to whom they sent the mailouts then its quite a bit
more than just telling someone to "stop"...

The easiest thing in the world is to criticise from a distance. Where's the
chorus of congratulations?!!!

As far as I'm concerned this outcome is excellent - bearing in mind that
auDA had no direct jurisdiction over Internet Registry through it being a
registrar or accredited reseller, the result is a significant achievement
for auDA and our industry as a whole.

It goes a very long way to establishing auDA as the authoritative rather
than representative body.

From me, at least, "Well done, auDA".

"Stop!"

"If you don't stop, I'll say stop again!"
