I got about 1/2 way down the list and found that none of them are actually
'working' sites....can anyone say "domain squatting"?

By the way James, I think the Australian Legal Information Institute might
get a bit upset that you've registered austlii.com.au (theirs is
austlii.edu.au)...

Well done Raif!

Subject: Young Mr Guy

Motives? Agendas?

Well, it seems that young Mr Guy is something of a domain name king. Below
is a list of some names registered to him. Obviously a number of 'law' ones
and no problem there as far as I can tell, so far. But, to use some of young
Mr Guy’s favourite words, there are some little ‘gems’.

1. jazz.org.au and trademarks.org.au - registered to him personally using
his personal abn. And how does that fit within the policy precisely? The
policy says that org.au registrants must be;

a) a charity operating in Australia, as defined in the registrant’s
constitution or other documents of incorporation; or

b) a non-profit organisation operating in Australia, as defined in the
registrant’s constitution or other documents of incorporation.

So unless young Mr Guy is a charity or a non-profit organisation then this
looks like a breach of the rules to me. I shall be lodging a formal
complaint with auDA. Of course under the rules young Mr Guy will have 14
days within which to correct the situation before the registration is
cancelled. But, wait a moment, wasn’t he suggesting that giving people the
right to correct a registration was wrong….hmm!

2. audrp.com.au and audrp.net.au - A little disingenuous, don’t you think,
for someone claiming to be acting in the best interests of the DNS to
register domain names such as these. And, in any event, how is young Mr Guy
entitled to them. He is not a accredited provider of services under the
auDRP so where is the close and substantial connection. Again, I shall be
lodging a complaint about these registrations with auDA.

3. udrp.com.au and udrp.net.au – see 2 above.
