Although oblique to the point of being opaque this comment reveals that CD is still with us and apparently paying attention sometimes. What about answers to the queries raised over the last couple of weeks, ie.:- a) why was Namescout allowed to publish .au domain renewal dates? b) what action was taken by auDA to stop this? c) what penalties/sanctions will auDA impose on Namescout in respect to this clear breach of auDA rules? d) is the "Namescout" registrar a Barbadian corporation or Momentous Australia Pty Ltd? If the latter why is GST not charged in respect of .au domain transactions? e) why do registrants of .au doman names with Namescout have to deal with either "Master Agents" or Namescout support direct to make changes to a .au domain eg. delegation? That is to say a registrant who has used a reseller/agent can't make changes for themsleves as they cannot have access to a Master Account (which would give them the right to make changes to all domains on the account). Note that registrants are locked into a reseller/agent once a domain has been registered by a Master Account holder. f) why are the contact details on Namescout registered domains demonstrably incorrect when there is a requirement that contact details be accurate? With Namescout the registrant contact defaults to a "cloaked" alias for the Master Agent contact. To get this his changed you must either contact Namescout or the Master Agent which invloves considerable delays and expense. g) why do auDA staff apparently describe Namescout as a "major international domain registrar" when in fact they only have a miniscule share of the market? cbReceived on Fri Oct 03 2003 - 00:00:00 UTC
