Yes, correct, there is an ICANN gTLD .biz.  I wasn't thinking when I posted
and when I couldn't resolve the domain with a quick look I assumed it was an
alternative TLD.  http://cyber.law.harvard.edu/people/edelman/dotbiz/ gives
some information on this.

The question was valid however and it was good to see some responses to
clarify.
