[DNS] Domain name deregulation is 'damaging'

I find it curious that Melbourne IT's CEO is being quoted today as saying:

"There are market forces out there that are looking always to cash in on a .au and actually make it more like real estate where it can be traded openly. That will create a lot more cyber-squatting. It will destroy the credibility of .au, and the integrity of .au."
(from: http://www.smh.com.au/news/Business/Domain-name-deregulation-is-damaging/2007/05/22/1179601392763.html )

Yet, in their submission to the DCITA review only six months ago, they stated that:
"Rather than opening up registrations at the top level, auDA should give consideration to make it easier to trade domains in the existing second levels."
(from: http://www.dcita.gov.au/__data/assets/pdf_file/55838/Melbourne_IT.pdf )

I look forward to seeing which side of the fence they decide to sit on in their submission to the current policy review.
