Law firms taking tentative approach to registrations in legal gTLDs

An analysis of take-up within the two most relevant new gTLDs - ??.law?? and
??.legal?? - suggests that law firms are taking a tentative approach to
their new gTLD registration strategies, with only a quarter of the sample we
studied registering the equivalent of their key domain name in either of the
strings. One firm that has registered in both advises firms to heed the
advice they so often give to clients - if a gTLD is directly within your
operating space, claim it before someone else does.

DNSSEC Algorithm Roll-over

Rolling over the algorithm (usually to a stronger variant) used to sign a
DNS zone isn??t as easy as regular key roll-overs. This is because some
DNSSEC validators are less forgiving than others, and fail validation unless
the right combination of keys and signatures is present in a zone. This
article describes RIPE NCC??s experiences with DNSSEC algorithm roll-over.
We hope that our experience will help others who may be considering doing
this.

How to protect your online brand against cybersquatters

If you had a business called Widgets R Us and somebody set up shop right

miffed. Especially if the interloper then demanded money to move elsewhere.
But this sort of thing is happening all the time online. It's called
cybersquatting - buying up website addresses, or domain names, that sound
very similar to existing well-known brand names.
