TELECOMMUNICATIONS ACT 1991

AUSTEL may limit carriers' tort liability in respect of supplying
basic carriage services

121. (1) AUSTEL may by writing determine the maximum amount
recoverable in tort in relation to an act done, or
an omission made, in relation to the supply of a
         specified basic carriage service.

There are also other provisions. See

There are two major products that came out of Berkeley:
LSD and UNIX. This is no coincidence.
