An interesting situation arose recentlly when Perth based
listed company AdultShop.com managed to get
AdultShop.com.au. It was reported that the previous owner
of the .com.au had wanted $1 Million for it.

It was reported that they didn't renew the registration
for it and adultshop then managed to get it for $125.

I can't believe the previous owner would be so reckless
with a name that is obvioulsy worth a lot of money. I also
wondered how adultshop got onto it so quickly so your
comments help explain that although you have to wonder
how consistant they are with this as well.

eg I had someone with a domain that was 6 months or
so out of registration and a nice lady from MelbIT
actually rang me (as the admin contact) asking if
we were going to renew. We renewed of course and
were grateful for the followup.
