Dave,

Yeah, I got one too - it's interesting, though, that the list appears to
have been sent individually to those who have expressed deep concern at the
fact that domain owner lists are being abused, yet the relevant "self
regulating" authorities either cannot, or won't, act to stop it. And why
should the "signatory" appear able to only write his name backwards?

The sort of abuse we've seen of late (and agreed as unacceptable, I might
add!) isn't aberrant action by one player in which any detrimental effect is
limited - it's abhorrent behaviour, by which we're ALL branded.

Does anybody actually think that this is going to engender confidence in an
already-cynical market place - one on which we all depend for our living? I
for one am deeply concerned at our industry's obvious vulnerability to abuse
by charlatans, coupled with the industry members' lack of appropriate
recourse. Indeed, I've seen no evidence to date that we're even capable of
self-regulation, judging by what I've read in this forum.

Vested interest - small hosting company, CP to INWW.

Interesting indeed. Whether 'genuine' I dare not guess, but note that
the most recent alleged timestamp is:

changed: nobody§aunic.net 20010617

Cheers, Ian
