System upgrades delay .biz registrations 
NeuLevel, the US company responsible for registering .biz domain
names, is delaying the start of live online registrations for .biz
until 7 November, citing the need to upgrade its computer systems.

.Movie coming to a Web site near you
New domain aims to make it easier for film fans to find the official
site for their favourite movies 
New.net, an Internet start-up aiming to speed up the domain-name
registration process, has released a new domain name suffix, ending
in .movie. The California-based company is betting that the new Web
address extension will help people find official movie sites easier
and faster than memorising cumbersome Web addresses. New.net said it
has entered more than 1,000 of the most popular official film sites
into a catalogue so people can access the sites by typing in the name
of the movie followed by .movie. Film fans, for instance, can find
the "Spiderman" movie site by typing in www.spiderman.movie instead
of www.sony.com/spiderman.

First 90 days of Operation  
Afilias, the .INFO registry, today announced that more than 500,000
.INFO domain names were registered during the domain’s first 90 days
of operation. In comparison, the .COM domain took more than five
years to reach the same milestone, according to a U.C. Berkeley study
of domain acceptance.
