au: Respondent's Long Use of JACUZZI in Australia
Prevails in Domain Name Dispute
Jacuzzi, Inc., owner of rights in the mark JACUZZI,
challenged the domain name jacuzzi.net.au in this
first WIPO decision involving the .au domain. The
Australian respondent had used the JACUZZI name for
nearly 15 years.

European firms rush to get .eu names (reg req'd)
With the launch of ".eu" internet domain names just
weeks away, European companies are rushing to register
their domain names.







Spanish domain names open to trade mark owners (reg

Second Phase of Spanish Domain Names Registration
under .ES Launched
ESNIC, a department of the Corporate Entity RED.ES,
the Spanish authority for the management of the
assignment of Internet domain names under the country
code ?.es?, announced in a press release on Tuesday
that the second phase of the progressive registry is
available starting September 6 and will end on October
21, 2005.

Free China .cn domain names
Net.cn, the largest domain name registrar in Communist
China, says it?ll spend more than RMB10 million
($1,235,849 at the time of writing) on free domain
names for current users and clients.


fi: Domain names with Nordic characters popular (news
In Finland, according to the Ministry of
Communications, a total of 1,500 new .fi-domain names
with the special Nordic characters "?", "?" and "?"
were registered during the first two days after they
were launched on 1 September 2005.

average citizens and family groups.
