Yes, there are many legitimate reasons - that's why I responded to the
thread in the first place - to point it out, and request auDA make some
clarification.

As I said in previous posts, I suspect auDA is referring specifically to
TLD.com.au domains, but it wasn't entirely clear.  It might seem like a
trivial issue, but it is this sort of vagueness that undermines business
confidence in the .au namespace.

The mere fact that people think auDA CAN make such a ruling across
all domains - regardless of whether they are likely to - is enough to
scare people away.

The fact is, that the level of control many people want, from price
regulation to controlling what content people put on their site, not
to mention the general anti-corporate/anti-business stance taken
by many on this list, is indeed a form of socialism.

To be honest, many on this list seem to embrace the ulta-left wing
ideals so enthusiastically, that I'm surprised they consider being
labelled "communist" or "socialist" an insult at all.
