Censor-happy China, battling Brazilians ... just what's left in the wake of
ICANN's now ex-CEO?

Everyone wants to leave their job on a high, but so few manage it. One of
those who tried so hard is Fadi Chehade, CEO of domain-name system overseer
ICANN, who vacated the top role earlier this month. He has left a bit of a
stink behind, thanks to his courting of the repressive Chinese government
and disgraced Brazilian president Dilma Rousseff.

Carders Park Piles of Cash at Joker?s Stash

A steady stream of card breaches at retailers, restaurants and hotels has
flooded underground markets with a historic glut of stolen debit and credit
card data. Today there are at least hundreds of sites online selling stolen
account data, yet only a handful of them actively court bulk buyers and
organized crime rings. ... As a business, Joker?s Stash made good on its
promise. It?s now one of the most bustling carding stores on the Internet,
often adding hundreds of thousands of freshly stolen cards for sale each

Registering and Monetizing Personal Names by Gerald M. Levine

At the top of WIPO's list of the most cybersquatted trademarks for 2015
(issued on March 18, 2016) is "Hugo Boss" with 62 complaints. The report
also reveals that the fashion industry led other commercial sectors with 10%
of complainant activity. Not surprisingly, in this sector companies
(couturiers extending their services to the general public) are branded with
the personal names of their founders. Why any registrant would intentionally
target well-known personal names in the fashion industry is a mystery
because there's no future in it. In fact, complaints are never answered and
always successful.
