'Hijackers' lead to domain changes

MELBOURNE IT has moved to increase security for domain name holders amid
concerns about domain name 'hijackers'.

As of yesterday, all changes to .com.au domain names must be authenticated
with a registry key, which is issued to the domain owner on registration.
The change also prevents anyone other than the domain name owner from
finding out the expiry date of a name.
