hi there,

whois data for sa.gov.au domains is not technically linked in any fashion
to where actual delegation points. In fact it's often a highly inaccurate
source of authoritive delegation information.

I believe NOIE operate the website http://www.domainname.gov.au which
hosts this whois information and allows you to maintain some of the
.gov.au space and the namespaces that sit underneath.

When registration data was migrated from AUNIC to NOIE, tech and admin
contacts, and authoritive name servers were, jumbled. NOIE have thus far
failed to correct the problem.

The sa.gov.au namespace is managed technically by the SA govt themselves
and the primary name server has a hostname of arnie.systems.sa.gov.au

Internode are merely the secondaries for the namespace.

The most accurate way to see who a domain name is delegated to is to dig /
nslookup / whatever dns tool you use , using arnie as a host.

I'd be interested to hear anyone else's experiences with
http://www.domainname.gov.au .
