If it was purchased through the retail site, then we generally consider it a retail client. We have a reseller program and a partner program for people who register multiple domains on others behalf - and we also have an "internal transfer" policy so that new partners/resellers can move domains from our retail profile to their own reseller account. With regards to this particular mailout - I should point out that the main focus was to ensure the registrants details are up to date. We are required as a registrar to make such an effort at least once every six months (as are all registrars). In the case of resellers, we can simply require that they contact their own clients - but if it was purchased retail, then we are are essentially the first line of support. Even on the volumes you indicated, you would probably benefit in becoming an partner (both in price, and the degree of control you have over your clients) If you have any additional questions/problems, I'm happy to discuss them off-list :) Cheers, Kirk Fletcher ----- Original Message ----- From: "fred" <tony§seol.net.au> To: <dns§lists.auda.org.au> Sent: Tuesday, September 16, 2003 4:40 PM Subject: Re: [DNS] Enetica > Out of interest, how do you tell if they are retail clients?
