[DNS] New WHOIS

More often then not, registrants forget which email address they have
setup for the registrant contact; so when they want to transfer their
domain they rely on their new registrar to streamline the process for
them.

It is common practice to advise the new client of the email address
currently set as the registrant contact; so that they can check it and
approve the domain transfer. Registrant contact information for domains
sponsored by other registrars is now only available through the
captcha'd WHOIS.

It's about customer service.

Michael,

Can you give some examples of why au domain registrars would need
to use whois in their systems, rather than whois-check or EPP?
