The new policies although approved aren't implemented yet (concurrent with
competition), but yes, whois information is highlighted as being a priority.

As for the responsibilities - there's minimum technical requirements for
registry and registrar detailed in the Competition Panel report - see
attachment C (although the html anchor doesn't seem to work)

http://www.west.net.au/asn.au/test.cgi 'kinda' works for registered asn.au
domains.

Given that asn.au domains are free I'm not sure what level of
service/performance satisfies your expectations.

It's interesting to note asn.au's registrar was 1 of the 2 registrar
founding members of auDA - something positive from my perspective
