As long as people are not paying directly to be in the draw and Uregister is not charging above their normal price than they don't need a permit or license. That is my understanding. Yes I too am tired. I hope AUDA takes all possible actions as it is clear they are not only spamming but also using the whois database. Wilson Young Express Domains -----Original Message----- From: Anthony Dever [mailto:anthony§billiousness.com] Sent: Thursday, 6 February 2003 12:20 PM To: auDA Mailing List Subject: [DNS] uRegister i'm just curious but, how can uregister.com.au run what seems to be a national competition of chance for $10,000 cash without having competition permits in every state? http://www.comdom.net/unews/index.php?extend.4&PHPSESSID=9d41e230ae162a3f3f3 ae34cc7fb11fd I'm not trying to beat up on them but it doesn't reflect well on the legitamcy of whole domain/internet industry if companies within the industry do not take the correct action with regards to fair trading laws and maketing practices. It's just getting tiresome. anthony --------------------------------------------------------------------------- List policy, unsubscribing and archives => http://www.auda.org.au/list/dns/ Please do not retransmit articles on this list without permission of the author, further information at the above URL.
